Slippy Slope is an intuitive mobile sliding game. The player is a lost penguin trying to get back to its herd while avoiding dangers and dodging hazards.
The project started during Pride Game Jam and then continued as a bigger project. The team includes a few initial jam team members and new members. The team is made up of game design alumni, students, and industry hopefuls around Finland. Slippy Slope has gotten inspiration from old-school games, such as Super Mario 64, casual mobile games, and PC mods.
My responsibility was to generate concept art of the characters, hazards, and in-game assets. I started my concepts with some reference research and then start to make realistic animal studies to determine key characteristrics of the character. Then I make some iterations to choose from. Lastly I make clean concept for 3D artist to use. Since I am as well the texture artist I use my concepts as guidelines how I texture the assets,
